Hey Girl, lets talk morning routines! Do you have one? Heard of them? Wondering why the F you need a morning routine?
Let me tell ya I was there too at one point. I have read all the things, listened to that podcast and this one telling me about morning routines… but trying to follow one with 2 kids, full time job, and my side hustle was brutal!!
UNTIL, I came up with a routine that worked for me! Not everyone wants to wake up at 5 am, drink a green smoothie, or go work out. So, I came up with a routine that ALLOWED me to get to the things I wanted to do each day but could not find the time to do once everyone was awake a buzzing.
I must tell you this morning routine as been AMAZING! The first day or two were a little challenging but now I wake up before the alarm and I am excited to get my day started. I am more calm, happy, positive, and more productive.
Having your own business and working from home with kids can be a CHALLENGE!! Some days s&*^ just does not go right. This routine has really helped me better navigate the mornings with things do not go right because I am already in a grateful, positive, intentional mindset for the day. This has also had a large impact on me handling the full-time job and getting less stressed.
So, what am I doing?
I wake up at 5am, not everyone has to wake up this early just try to wake up around 2 hours before the kids do.
I write in my journal I start with 5 things I am grateful for and move on to intentions for the day.
Next, I TRY to meditate, I am still working on this and keeping my mind quite but taking the 10 minutes to listen to my breathing and calming my mind works wonders. Some mornings I include visioning into my routine.
Now on to YOGA!! I love yoga, I watch it on YouTube (Yoga with Adreian) it has been amazing especially through COVID. She has all sorts of videos that work different areas and focus on different emotions.
After I had a little sweat session (I love the weight loss classes) I sit down to read. Currently reading a Brand Story but I try to choose something educational in business of personal to start my day.
On to my shower… and I play music while getting ready.
Once I have completed all of this, I am feeling amazing and ready to start working and usually am before the girls even make a peep.
This is not a perfect routine, I make tweaks to it when necessary, and I include or remove things when I feel it is not working. I would love to hear about your morning routine if you have one? If not has this encouraged, you to give one a try?
